Privacy Policy

Introduction

At the American Indian College Fund, we value your support and we are committed to protecting your privacy. Our site is a secure environment for anyone who visits or makes a donation.  The purpose of this statement is to share with you our policy concerning your privacy.

Normal Browsing

When you visit our site, we collect some basic information. This includes total number of visitors, pages viewed and other non-identifying information. We use this aggregate information to improve our site and to make your experience on our website as smooth as possible.

Cookies are small text files that a site transfers to a site visitor's hard disk or browser for added functionality, or for tracking site usage.  The American Indian College Fund uses cookies in a limited capacity. American Indian College Fund's cookies "expire" at the end of your user session. Our cookies do not capture or store any personally identifying information about you, or any data about your past usage of our site. We use information captured by cookies only for blind statistical analysis, and to tailor our communications with the public.

Use of Links

Throughout our Web pages, we provide links to other servers which may contain information of interest to our readers. We take no responsibility for, and exercise no control over, the organizations, views, or accuracy of the information contained on other servers. Creating a text link from your Web site to our site does not require permission. If you have a link you'd like us to consider adding to our Web site, please send an email to info@collegefund.org with the subject "Link request."

Online Profile Updates & Donations

If you complete the Profile update form or make a donation on our website and share your personally identifying information, this information will be used only to provide you with more targeted content. We may use your contact information to send further information about our organization or to contact you when necessary. You may always opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the "Opt Out" section below.

The information you transmit to us on this site travels by encryption. The companies that we work with to process your online donations use encryption and security protocols. The information you provide to us is stored in a secure location, and is accessible only by designated employees trained in the proper handling of customer information.

We do not collect personally identifiable information from you unless you provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly.

Your information is privileged and confidential and will not be shared or released to any organization or business entity other than those affiliated with or working in conjunction with the American Indian College Fund. We occasionally make our constituent names and postal addresses available to other reputable organizations. We have found this to be the most cost-effective method of increasing our database of potential supporters and hope that you value the information they send you. Your name is only available to these carefully screened organizations for a limited time. Other organizations will not have continued access to your name and address unless you choose to respond to their initial mailing. We do not share email addresses.

We respect your privacy and allow you to restrict internal and external sharing of your personal information. We recognize that you may wish to limit the ways in which we contact you. When you make a donation, you can request that the Fund not share your contact information with other non-profit organizations, that we not contact you, or share your information with anyone, that we contact you once per year, that we contact you by email only, or that you only receive educational-based communications. You can review your information at any time by contacting the American Indian College Fund at 303-426-8900 or by email at: info@collegefund.org.

Note to Parents and Children

The American Indian College Fund does not knowingly collect or maintain any personal information from children under the age of 13. In addition, no part of our site is designed with the purpose of attracting any person under the age of 13.

Opt-Out or Change Your Contact Information

Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us through a special online form. You may choose to receive only specific communications or none at all. You may also update your contact information previously provided to us through another online form. You can not remove yourself from our database, but you can prevent unwanted communication.
